Some 1500 people enjoyed the new LBBF run by the newest Branch of CAMRA in the UK! In the marvellous setting of the Georgian Pump Room, and the Left Bank Cafeteria it was a very relaxed atmosphere with almost a continental feel as drinkers could sit on the terrace overlooking the Irwell!
While most beers seemed to find favour with drinkers, the Rammy Craft Ales Ramsbottom Imperial Mancunian Stout at 10% ABV really hit the spot. A whopping beer from what has to be one of the smallest breweries in the UK never mind Greater Manchester! This was the best beer according to the visitors who voted in a free prize draw for their beer of the festival.
The free prize draw (2 tickets to the forthcoming Manchester Beer & Cider Festival) for taking part in the People’s Choice for Beer or Cider/Perry of the Festival, was won by Rachael Critchley. We are sure she will enjoy her trip to what has to be the best Beer Festival in the North West if not the UK!
With over 70 cask beers and several KeyKeg conditioned vessels, of Greater Manchester Beers on offer the visitors were not short of choice.
Then there was the great selection of Ciders and Perrys with Perry – ROSIES, Llandegla, Perfect Pear Perry winning the People’s Choice of Perry of the Festival and the Cider of the Festival – Snailsbank, Worcester, Rhubarb Cider.
Keep an eye on the website for the next festival in the city – Manchester Beer and Cider Festival at Manchester Central (formally known as G-Mex).
The festival will be open to the public on Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st January 2017. Doors open at noon each day.
Advance tickets for the 2017 festival will go on sale from 1st August 2016.
